Happy New Year! After traveling frequently throughout the fall, we are happy to be settled at home for most of January. Indoor track races have begun, and we'll finish the indoor season with a 3 day meet in Pocatello, Idaho in a few weeks.

We had a wonderful holiday season with family & friends! Todd, Samuel, and I spent a weekend up in Park City. We had beautiful, snowy weather! Sam loved exploring our "home" for the night, especially the indoor pool!

The luggage cart was a hit

Our college teammate, Eva, and her husband, Pete, stayed with us for a few nights in December while Pete interviewed for residency programs at local hospitals. We enjoyed reminiscing about life at Calvin College. We took them snowshoeing in Big Cottonwood Canyon on a gorgeous, sunny day.

The day before traveling to the Midwest, we opened gifts as a family. One of Sam's gifts was a sled, which we've gotten some great use out of already!

We spent Christmas in Minnesota with Todd's family. Despite temperatures below zero, we enjoyed backyard sledding with Samuel. Extended family from Iowa joined us in Minnesota on Christmas Day. We had a wonderful time!

Escape Room! We made it out!

From Minnesota, Todd flew home to SLC. Samuel & I flew to Michigan to spend a week and a half with my family. After 9 hours in the airport (thanks to a airplane door that wouldn't shut), we finally made our way to Michigan! Sam was a trooper. He has flown so much already that he is super familiar with airplanes. As soon as we get on, he wants to lower the tray table, turn the overhead light on and off, and take the magazines out of the seat pocket.

Happy to finally be on board the plane!

Goodbye Minnesota!

On December 23rd, our nephew Weston William was born! I'm so glad that I got to meet him when he was only a week old. Sam mostly ignored his little cousin and played with his big cousin instead. We had a great time in Michigan! I hadn't been home for that long in 6.5 years. I was able to see high school and college friends, as well as Grandma & Uncle Bruce.

Great to see Amanda & Carolyn (and Maxine!). Also, this is part 1 of toddlers not wanting their pictures taken.

Here's part 2 :). I loved meeting Micah (and catching up with Alissa!).

Sam loved playing with Hazel, and it was great to see Lori!
